Pool Openings & Closings
We get you open for summer and shut down tight for winter. Opening means removing the cover, cleaning, starting the equipment, and balancing the water so the first swim is not a chemistry experiment. Closing means the pool goes into the cold months protected instead of growing algae under a cover.

What you actually get.
- Cover removal and cleaning
- Equipment startup and prime check
- Debris removal and vacuum
- Chemistry balanced for swimming
- Winterizing and freeze protection
- Closing with cover and equipment care
Openings & Closings questions.
When should I open my pool in Texas?
Most North Texas pools open in April or May, before the first hot stretch. Opening earlier is cheaper than recovering a green pool in June.
Do I have to close my pool in Texas?
You do not have to — many pools run year-round here. If you do close it, it needs to be balanced and protected, because a covered pool with bad chemistry still grows algae, just slower.
What does a pool opening include?
Cover removal and cleaning, debris removal, equipment startup, filter and pump check, and water testing and balancing. Anything that failed over the winter gets quoted separately before we fix it.
What happens if I skip winterizing?
Freezing nights can crack plumbing and equipment, and standing water grows algae and stains the surface. Winterizing is the cheap insurance.
